It’s nice that Apple came up with the 5 Rs Assistant. Jam’s iPod nano went berserk. I was able to restore it at first but when I unhooked it from the PC, the same message “Use iTunes to restore” would appear. I went to an iPod center to ask what could have been causing the iPod to act strangely. They said that it could be a hardware problem. So, I just read about articles in the internet on what to do if your iPod would seem as if it broke down.
I then found the solution. I downloaded the latest iTunes software which includes the Apple updater. I reformatted the iPod nano and made a restore and update. Apparentl, I have to download a 16.9MB software update for iPod nano. I was actually crossing my fingers until the download was over because I’m only using dial-up at home. I’m hoping to have my broadband connection setup in a few days though 
. After downloading, the restore was successful. I tried uploading a couple of songs to the iPod and disconnected it from the PC.
Finally, it worked!

My iPod froze on me a couple of times, but nothing the five Rs can’t fix.
Is rockbox already available for the 2nd-gen nano? Coz that would be most love.

Sometimes pressing mid button (resetting) does work miracles. Well, that’s what I sometimes do to my Ipod Nano.
Anyways, by the way, ever happen to notice whenever using Itunes that your CD drive may suddenly disappear from the the computer system. FYI, I notice Itunes has some CD Drive issues that other users have succumb too (I am one of them, which my laptop lost the CD drive shortcut up to now, still can’t fix it). Not to destroy Itune’s credibility, but this is just an FYI. Hopefully Apple did some thing with that issue.

My bad, I was so stupid not to note down my (lost) CD Drive, particularly the brand name or what. But it’s a CDR/W drive that can also play DVDs. This drive is part of my barely a year old laptop COMPAQ V3007TUW WXGA INTEL DUO T2400. After some time of using Itunes, I think uploading some version of Itunes somehow trigger some changes in the CD Drive registry and my shortcut to CD Drive just vanished. Thus I got no access to my CD Drive anymore, although it seems to work because when I slid a CD inside, the lights would blink and run a little bit, but afterwards no more activity nor auto play for the CD.
Any ideas, or from some readers here who could shed some light on this issue?
