Red Box

It was the first time that I joined my officemates for a videoke trip last Friday. We opted for Red Box because it was the nearest place. However, it’s more expensive there compared to IO. The entrance during primetime (7pm to 12mn) is 399 pesos inclusive of two bottles of beer. I just consumed the two bottles and I did not order additional drinks because a bottle of beer there costs 75 bucks. By the way, they have a 10 percent service charge and a 12 percent VAT. Ouch!

Our ultimate discovery for the night is how one of our colleagues sang. :D I describe it as someone with addict mode. He sang Rolling Stones songs by the way. And of course, the first song that caught our attention was the song Angie.

My other colleagues sang three Aegis songs. The best part here is that it is as if they’re singing for a big audience. Performance level! Haha! :D

What did I sang? A song from Barbie’s Cradle and was a theme for a certain TV show. Then a song from The Corrs that will leave you breathless. :) Also, it’s a must to sing an Alanis Morisette song. I’m not a great singer and I’ll not be posting a podcast here of me singing :D . I did not have a record of the songs anyway :D .

  1. Karla, I’m doing a writing project regarding the recent murder of Musa Dimasidsing, the district supervisor who was shot dead, he was the election official who exposed the election fraud and anomalies that occurred in Maguindanao.

I hope you can join the writing project and write a blog post about your reaction, and we will link to your post, we will collect the links everyday and post them in one blog post starting Wednesday until Sunday. We will make combine all the links on Sunday evening in one post.

You can read about the writing project here, and learn how you can participate. A simple post will do, as long as you join. Anyone that reads this can also join.

  2. It never fails, every karaoke session with friends/officemates results in at least one of the following:

    - Singing in ‘addict’ mode (preferably Alanis Morisette)
    - Two males singing a love duet (ideally ‘Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang’)
    - Girl who doesn’t sing “kasi di ko alam ang lyrics e”
    - ‘Closing Time’ by Semisonic should be the last song, required by law.
