This mixed martial arts events organized by Platinum Fighting Productions will be held at the Araneta Coliseum on December 9. You’ll be expecting this from the event:
Four legendary coaches that require no introduction will attempt to guide their team to victory. Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Josh Barnett and Gokor Chivichyan will showcase their unique coaching styles and techniques through their four respective teams. Team Gracie will bring a solid Brazilian jiu-jitsu base, Team Shamrock will have a well-rounded mixture of power and submissions, Team Barnett will bring an effective catch wrestling style and Team Gokor will have powerful judo. Hardcore MMA fans will truly enjoy this as UFC veterans are slated to compete in this big event and they are: Vernon White, Ricco Rodriguez, Jeff Monson, Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Ivan Salaverry.

Finally, I’d get to see a “decent” MMA event live here in Manila. Although it would’ve been better if Josh Barnett would’ve competed for the event. Atleast, I’d get to see my long time MMA idol live in action.
Well, the card looks stacked though. They have Babalu, Snowman and Kondo on the card, so I can’t afford to miss this.

Wooh! Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie. This is going to be sweet. Hopefully, we get to see fighting with technique and grace, not just two dudes throwing fists at each other until one dude falls down. Then metaphorical ass-raping ensues.
We, the GenAd dudes, are the luckiest fight fans in that event. Imagine our 315 peso seats turned to Upper Box A (2100 pesos) on that day. Woohoo! See you at December 2008 at Araneta for the repeat!
