The setup was pretty simple. I used my iPhone with the Griffin iTalk app (quality was set to Best, file format produced is AIFF). No cable was attached to the TV and to the recording device (iPhone). I know this is an amateur bootleg but I’d like to check the results. I enhanced the volume of the audio by amplifying it using Audacity (result is an mp3 file 256kbps). I also added Fade in and Fade out but not on this audio sample (see the audio player below).

Good thing it was quiet in the sofa, plus, the dog was not barking. Good thing he was cooperative. LOL. I had to turn off the electric fan so that its sound won’t be recorded as well. Yep. Sacrifices. :D

Anyway, I was kinda disappointed with the quality of audio that went with the video shown.

Here’s a sample of the result. I’d like to show more samples but the upload speed right now is so slow. :(

By the way, I saw myself too on the concert. LOL. Just my eyes, nose and my camera. It is because the bouncer was blocking me. Argh. :D

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus 1

Last week, the day after the Eraserheads Final Set concert, I went to Trinoma to watch Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in their activity center. As expected, there were a lot of people in the mall, it is really rare to have foreign act perform in the mall which means you can actually watch them for free. Anyway, thanks to Jayvee for this opportunity and of course to Trinoma. (more…)

Ely and Raimund -1

This is the 2nd part of my Eraserheads Live! The Final Set Experience. You can check out part 1 here. The first song was Magasin. It was one of those songs that they weren’t able to play during the first reunion concert. It was like the biggest videoke party that one would experience the moment Magasin was played. (more…)

Almost a group hug

Being in front of them playing again after the first Eraserheads Reunion Concert is surreal. Just like the first one, I felt nervous before the show started. I was thinking how will the entrance be or what are the songs that they’re going to perform. Also, this is the first and the last time that I will be taking their photos as Eraserheads, some thing that I wished I was able to do back then but I cannot since I was younger and live far from Quezon City where their gigs are usually held. However, I was able to watch their concert in my alma mater during High School. And when I was able to watch gigs already, they were still called Eraserheads but Ely already left the band. (more…)

Minutes ago, I just read Sarah Cada’s plurk about the death of Francis Magalona. Someone posted the link to GMA.TV’s story about it confirming that Francis M. has indeed died from cancer at the age of 44. The news was confirmed by Vic Sotto in Eat Bulaga which I missed by the way since my brother on sick leave was having a phone conversation in our living room. (more…)

All you need to do is to write an essay why you are the biggest fan of the Eraserheads (in a minimum of 800 words). :D The top three essays will be judged by Raymund Marasigan. The guitar to be won is a Fender Thinline Telecaster guitar (wooden finish) and a Fender Frontman Amp. Know more about the contest details at Pulse.ph. I already know someone who could possibly win in this contest.
