Champ and Kitchie at Coke Music Studio - 2
Champ and Kitchie

The last Coke Music Studio featured the mash-up of Callalily and Kiss Jane. They are both bands. This time, they are featuring both solo artists who belonged to a band once. These solo artists are: Champ and Kitchie Nadal.

The songs that they’ll mash-up together are “Hanging Habagat” (by Champ) and “Bulong” (by Kitchie Nadal). “Hanging Habagat” was the first single released by Champ while “Bulong” was one of the singles released under Kitchie Nadal’s album “Kitchie Nadal”. (more…)

Ely Buendia at Folk U - 4
Ely Buendia

Me and Sha were so glad that we were able to make it to one of the .MOV fest activities last Saturday. We are both Folk U first-timers. Even though the venue in Podium is quite bigger than that of the ones we usually go to (i.e. Saguijo, etc.), we felt that it was an intimate gig.

Callalily and Kiss Jane - Coke Music Studio - 4
Jaq and Kean

The episodes featuring Callalily’s and Kiss Jane’s rehearsals looks fun. Well, the idea of collaborating with another artist is really exciting for another recording artist because of the creativity they put in their musical arrangement. I think they are also thrilled working with Raimund Marasigan with their musical arrangement. Raimund Marasigan’s bands are under the management of Soupstar Entertainment where Callalily also belongs. (more…)

Callalily and Kiss Jane - Coke Music Studio - 3
Jaq (of Kiss Jane) and Kean Cipriano (of Callalily)

When I heard “Liwanag” (by Callalily) and “Lagi” by Kiss Jane, I actually couldn’t imagine how those two songs can be mashed up. “Liwanag” is more upbeat than that of “Lagi”. In addition, the sound of the guitars in “Lagi” makes use of the instrument’s natural sound without adding heavy effects unlike in “Liwanag”. Also, the voice of Jaq is suitable to songs that are slow but does not sound heavy. (more…)

Stone Temple Pilots: Live in Manila - 1

Last month, Deftones had a concert in Manila. We’re supposed to watch it but the concert dates of Deftones and Stone Temple Pilots are quite near. Thus, me and Sha have to choose one. We ended up choosing Stone Temple Pilots because we like them more and of course, we both love the concert venue (Araneta Coliseum). (more…)

Sugarfree Farewell Concert - 116
Jal, Mitch, Ebe, Kaka

I remember when I first heard of Sugarfree’s songs, I bought a copy of their album “Sa Wakas”. I went to some of their bar gigs and joined their mailing list. I can’t believe that last night’s farewell concert is their last performance ever before the day there’s no more Sugarfree. (more…)

Mr. Big Live in Manila 2011

I still can’t believe that Pulp Live World is bringing Mr. Big to Manila. Mr. Big is just amongst the bands that I grew up listening to. The concert will be held on May 10, 2011 in Araneta Coliseum. The tickets to the concert are reasonable as well. (more…)

Bamboo at MTV Exit 14
Bamboo at MTV Exit

Even before an official statement was made, the news about Bamboo disbanding spread throughout the social networks like a forest fire. I was shocked and sad to see them disband. Bamboo has posted the official announcement on their website. (more…)
