I got home last night with this book found on my study table. My Dad got another complimentary copy from PCIJ. The book that he just received recently is Hello Garci? Hello Maam: Political Humor in the Cellphone Age. I read it and it was an awesome compilation of political satire that first spread electronically. Some of the content were spread through e-mails and the others were spread through SMS. Retzwerx is the only blogger that I’m familiar with who contributed in this compilation. His poop-to-graphs have never ceased to amaze me. Technology has indeed changed the way people communicate. In fact, I saw in ABS-CBN News that the number of blogs has grown tremendously. This October, they were able to show that there are about 2,000 blogs. I hope they have not included splogs and inactive blogs as well.
I did not know that there is really a book about bloopers inside the American court rooms until I searched it in Google awhile ago and found an Amazon entry. I got an e-mail on the excerpts of the book some time ago and I received another e-mail which is exactly the same as the first one sent to me. Thanks to the court reporters who took note of these conversations in detail for what’s happening in Ally McBeal, and other TV series with lawyers, judges, jury, and the like is not the only thing that is expected to happen in actual court hearings. This book won’t only make you laugh all the time bu it will also be an eye-opener to all of us who haven’t had the chance to be an audience in a court hearing. Read more to check out some excerpts of the said book. (more…)
Now that the super-busy season dropped to moderately-busy season due to thesis, I now plan to read books. Just yesterday, I just started reading Rick Warren’s A Purpose-Driven Life. Actually, I have started reading this book ages ago and I have not finished reading it. I guess now is the best time to start reading it again and finish it.
Then, I’ll be reading a couple of Dan Brown books courtesy of my brother. I’m going to read Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code. Dan Brown also wrote Digital Fortress and Deception Point.
Also, I should start reading my Harry Potter book 5 in order to further enhance my HP Vocabulary.
When I had a chicken pox, all I did was read books like Memoirs of a Geisha, and Catcher in the Rye. That was the time when I was quarantined in my room because my brother and my sister haven’t gotten the pox yet.
I really missed reading books. I wanted to read a lot of books but I have to set some rule, and that is, “One book at a time”.
