On the evening of April 3 in Cubao X, is The Great FrancisM Film Fest! Films, music videos, interviews, VJ guestings, out takes, raw footage, hosting stints, photos, etc. of Francis Magalona will loop throughout the night. The film fest is also like an “open mic night” but not really since everyone can participate by bringing stuff that celebrates FrancisM. You could bring flash drives, iPod videos, DVDs, CDs containing audio or visual stuff (videos or photos). This is certainly an interesting way of paying tribute to the Man from Manila.

Last week, the day after the Eraserheads Final Set concert, I went to Trinoma to watch Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in their activity center. As expected, there were a lot of people in the mall, it is really rare to have foreign act perform in the mall which means you can actually watch them for free. Being in front of them playing again after the first Eraserheads Reunion Concert is surreal. Just like the first one, I felt nervous before the show started. I was thinking how will the entrance be or what are the songs that they’re going to perform. Also, this is the first and the last time that I will be taking their photos as Eraserheads, some thing that I wished I was able to do back then but I cannot since I was younger and live far from Quezon City where their gigs are usually held. However, I was able to watch their concert in my alma mater during High School. And when I was able to watch gigs already, they were still called Eraserheads but Ely already left the band. (more…)

Minutes ago, I just read Sarah Cada’s plurk about the death of Francis Magalona. Someone posted the link to GMA.TV’s story about it confirming that Francis M. has indeed died from cancer at the age of 44. The news was confirmed by Vic Sotto in Eat Bulaga which I missed by the way since my brother on sick leave was having a phone conversation in our living room. (more…)

Last Wednesday, we attended the launch of the Havaianas exhibit at Powerplant mall and also the lauch of RockEd Philippines’ Original Project Grant. Iya Villania and Mo Twister were the hosts for the event. Upon arriving the event, we were told that we should have our pictures taken on the wall setup at the North Court of the Powerplant mall in Rockwell. We never had an idea at first that each photo posted on the wall will be of big help to the Original Project Grant of Roc Ed. Each photo posted there is equivalent to a pledge worth 470 pesos. (more…)
