I was reading an entry in BoingBoing about musicians campaigning for net neutrality. The campaign is dubbed as Rock the Net. The campaign supports the idea that all traffic in the Internet must be treated equally. According to them, there are some Internet providers that are charging fees to have some web sites load faster than the others. Phone and other cable companies reacted to this by saying that Net neutrality would harm investment and innovation in the Internet. (more…)
My Dad went to the album launch (the day of Lakan’s birthday - keyboardist of the band) of The Bloomfields in Eastwood City. He’s a big fan of The Bloomfields. When I got home, he showed me the album signed by all of them. When I looked at the album credits under Lakan’s name I saw DLSU 54th Eng Block EB. I had the chance to be in that section once for the subject Strength of Materials and yes, Lakan was my classmate then. During that time, we really had no interaction. I only found out that we became classmates when my friend Norman introduced me to them in one of their gigs (he was with Weedisneys then). Pepe Lozano was also with Weedisneys too. If I’m not mistaken that was the event that was organized by some organization in DLSU. It was held in Madison (the condominium near Kenny Rogers DLSU Taft).

And according to the website, he’ll wear the camera until the day he dies. It was launched on March 19 and it has been running online for nine days already . (more…)

I have watched a lot of battle of the bands since I was in high school and although I have not participated as one of the contestants, one would really know which bands really suck and which ones not. This is true especially if the band is doing a cover of a popular rock song. My tolerance for listening to murdered covers are actually high. In fact, I can still stay there and listen to them. However, this is the first time that I walked out of a performance of a band. They did not just murdered the song. They were like murdering it slowly, chopping all the pieces one by one. (more…)
Perhaps, the worst thing that one might have experienced in riding a jeepney is not to be able to get off where one should. Another one of course is riding the wrong jeepney and you’ll later find out that it will not pass by the place you’re supposed to go to. More trivial bloopers would be sleeping in a jeepney with your mouth open. Certainly, it won’t be trivial if there’s saliva flowing from your mouth . What I have mentioned are just the common things that one would may have experienced in riding a jeepney. (more…)
